Kevin Gordon is Broker of Gordon Commercial Real Estate Brokerage and as of May 2020 leads the brokerage wing of Gordon Commercial.
Kevin joined Gordon Commercial in 2010, fresh from nine years in management at Pixar Animation Studios helping produce The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Up and Toy Story 3. He has a comprehensive background in real estate, gained through his support of family property holdings, apartment renovations, construction management, and property management.
He approaches transactions with patience and creativity – skills attributed to his training at Pixar and various team related experiences. He enjoys putting his background in project management and leadership, including strong communication, organization and planning skills, to work on behalf of clients. While he has a knack for restaurant deals, his experience is broad – including sales of multi-family, retail, mixed-use, office, industrial and commercial condo properties, as well as leasing of retail, office and industrial spaces.
Kevin is active in the Berkeley community as President of the Board of Directors for the Telegraph Avenue Business Improvement District (TBID). He is a Bay Area native, born and raised in the East Bay where he now resides with his wife Megan, and three daughters, Malia, Kai, and Ruby. Kevin’s license number is #01884390.
Lori originally joined Gordon Commercial in 2003 to lead the company’s marketing activities – after a 32-year corporate marketing career in the Bay Area. In 2014, she became a licensed commercial real estate agent and began completing transactions almost immediately. Masterfully translating real estate negotiation points into simple layman’s terms, working through any issues that arise with a skillful touch and an eye toward completing the transaction, she approaches each lease or sale opportunity with a laser-like focus on the goals of the parties she is representing – landlords/owners and tenants/buyers alike.
Lori lives in the Oakland hills with her husband, and is an avid hiker and bridge player. She is a past member of the Board of Directors of Temple Beth Abraham in Oakland, as well as a past President of the Women of TBA (WTBA). Lori’s license number is #01946676.
While John remains an active California real estate broker and remains a consultant to Gordon Commercial Real Estate Brokerage, he has transitioned the brokerage to Kevin Gordon.
John began his career as a broker in 1980 and founded Gordon Commercial Real Estate Services in 1995. Throughout his many years as a real estate professional, approximately 95% of John’s completed transactions have been exclusively representing owners in the leasing and sale of their properties. Even through the recession, John Gordon and his team completed hundreds of sale and lease transactions throughout the East Bay. His knowledge of Berkeley is unparalleled. Concentrating his real estate endeavors on the area in and around Downtown Berkeley, he has brokered over 150 sale and lease transactions on Shattuck Avenue alone. He is familiar with every downtown building and with all aspects of the deal including users, development potential, zoning, financing, and ownership challenges. His experience includes working with city agencies, Trust departments and REO departments of major lending institutions. John’s expertise in evaluating, purchasing, managing, and renovating properties in Berkeley ensures that the owners he represents achieve maximum returns.
Prior to his career in Real Estate, he worked in Certified Public Accounting, focusing on business accounting and planning, and income tax with a special expertise in real estate issues. This strong analytical experience informs how John evaluates and structures commercial real estate transactions. He transitioned into real estate in 1980 when hired at Grubb & Ellis Commercial Brokerage. He worked at Grubb & Ellis for fifteen years and achieved the title of Senior Marketing Consultant, a title held by less than 10% of the 3,000 commercial brokers. After a successful career there, he founded Gordon Commercial Real Estate Services.
John is a proud resident of Berkeley, and an active member of the community. He has served as a Board member for the Downtown Berkeley Association and the Telegraph Business Improvement District (TBID). He is also proud to have been a part of the Mayor’s Task Force on planning the Downtown Arts District. John’s license number is #00789365.
