Kevin Gordon is Broker of Gordon Commercial Real Estate Brokerage and as of May 2020 leads the brokerage wing of Gordon Commercial.

Kevin joined Gordon Commercial in 2010, fresh from nine years in management at Pixar Animation Studios helping produce The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Up and Toy Story 3. John Gordon(Former Broker)

While John remains an active California real estate broker and remains a consultant to Gordon Commercial Real Estate Brokerage, he has transitioned the brokerage to Kevin Gordon.

John began his career as a broker in 1980 and founded Gordon Commercial Real Estate Services in 1995. Throughout his many years as a real estate professional, approximately 95% of John’s completed transactions have been exclusively representing owners in the leasing and sale of their properties. Even through the recession, John Gordon and his team completed hundreds of sale and lease transactions throughout the East Bay. His knowledge of Berkeley is unparalleled. Concentrating his real estate endeavors on the area in and around Downtown Berkeley, he has brokered over 150 sale and lease transactions on Shattuck Avenue alone. He is familiar with every downtown building and with all aspects of the deal including users, development potential, zoning, financing, and ownership challenges. His experience includes working with city agencies, Trust departments and REO departments of major lending institutions. John’s expertise in evaluating, purchasing, managing, and renovating properties in Berkeley ensures that the owners he represents achieve maximum returns.

Prior to his career in Real Estate, he worked in Certified Public Accounting, focusing on business accounting and planning, and income tax with a special expertise in real estate issues. This strong analytical experience informs how John evaluates and structures commercial real estate transactions. He transitioned into real estate in 1980 when hired at Grubb & Ellis Commercial Brokerage. He worked at Grubb & Ellis for fifteen years and achieved the title of Senior Marketing Consultant, a title held by less than 10% of the 3,000 commercial brokers. After a successful career there, he founded Gordon Commercial Real Estate Services.

John is a proud resident of Berkeley, and an active member of the community. He has served as a Board member for the Downtown Berkeley Association and the Telegraph Business Improvement District (TBID). He is also proud to have been a part of the Mayor’s Task Force on planning the Downtown Arts District. John’s license number is #00789365.
